Billy Morgan, Two Podiums and the First Triple on Aussie Soil at the Carlton Mile High

If this is how Billy Morgan stomps to win second, you’ve got to wonder what Norway’s Germund Bratten did to beat him this weekend…

It’s been a fantastic couple of days for Billy at the Mile High by Carlton dry in Perisher Australia, taking two podium spots and becoming the first person to land a triple in Australia, way to leave your mark Bill!

The run that earned him second place in slope style consisted of a Backside Rodeo, Cab Double under flip and a Backside Triple 1440, not a bad show of strength from the Brit in a field full of fellow Olympic competitors; beating the likes of Torstein Horgmo, Aleksander Ostreng, Emil Ulsletten and Stale Sandbech.

Billy then went on to take first place in Big Air at the 4 Star World Snowboard Tour event, the first since the World Cup slopestyle was cancelled in Cardrona, NZ last week; and with an important season ahead, let’s hope he’s starting as he means to go on…
